PLACE MAKING - RESTORING STRATFORD
Group project creating an Urban Design Strategy for a new vision for Stratford High Street.
The project helped me understand how the theoretical dimensions of urban design relate in practice. I developed urban design analysis skills and used my creativity to create positive means to intervene in, and improve, the quality of the urban environment.
OUR VISION - RESTORING STRATFORD
The vision for Stratford High Street centres around its location at an important convergence within London. We seek to restore Stratford as an urban node within the greater trend of London’s eastward movement and improve the connection with the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We envision a future in which Stratford’s environmental potential drives development by creating a rich ecological setting for Stratford’s burgeoning population, putting sustainability and ecology at the heart of every design decision. This means restoring and creating habitats, waterways, and parklands.
